Iman was born on Long Island, New York and studied dance at The Ailey School from the age of six to fifteen. While attending the Junior Division program, she trained under Robert Atwood, Marianne Bachman, Tiffany Barnes, Elena Comendador, Iyun Harrison, Christian Von Howard, Theresa Ruth Howard, Tracy Inman, Earl Mosely, Melanie Person, and Sharon Wong. For the remainder of high school, she dual enrolled with her hometown school and Long Island High School for the Arts in Syosset, New York. After graduating, Iman attended Florida State University and received her BFA in Dance in May of 2013. Throughout her four years at FSU, she trained with and performed works by instructors and choreographers such as Anjali Austin, Tyrone Brooks, Lynda Davis, Tim Glenn, Gerri Houlihan, Alex Ketley, Dan Wagoner, and Jawole Willa Jo Zollar. Iman was a company member with Zullo/Raw Movement, currently working with their freelance projects, as well as teaching dance on Long Island.
