BodyStories: Teresa Fellion Dance is excited to share that we have been diligently preparing for a remarkable opportunity: our participation in the Cameroon Cultural Festival of North America 2026! This prestigious event brings together artists and communities to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and artistic innovation of Cameroon and its diaspora.
BodyStories will present Partager Bridge, an arts and education initiative that unites community workshops and the creation of a new choreographic work, in partnership with the CCFNA. This program fosters artistic and cultural exchange with Cameroonian immigrant and Cameroonian-American dance and music groups, emphasizing collaboration and shared creative ownership. The project will culminate in a performance at the Opening Ceremony of the CCFNA festival on Friday, May 29 at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.
The goal of Partager Bridge is to build meaningful artistic exchange between BodyStories artists and Cameroonian communities through dance, music, and storytelling. Artistic director Teresa Fellion and Cameroonian percussionist and composer Guy Nwogang lead the program, building on years of collaboration and mutual respect. This project continues previous work focused on fostering dialogue, connection, and healing through the arts. CCFNA is the first big step in this project that has been a long time in the making for us and we are thrilled!
A central focus of the festival is uplifting Cameroonian-American voices while exploring themes of home, tradition, transition, and identity. Drawing on Teresa Fellion’s experience living in Cameroon in 1998-1999, the program places community stories at its core, nurturing cultural pride, mutual understanding, and shared empowerment for artists and audiences alike. We are thrilled to partner with Christophe Tapa, Sebastian Essomba, and Serge Ewane for this big step of the project! More details to follow!
