Exactly fifteen years ago, BodyStories began as a simple yet ambitious dream to touch the lives of those around us through dance. To celebrate our anniversary, you’re invited to relive our evolution from a humble group of ambitious dancers to an internationally touring company of socially engaged performers and educators.
As we reflect on the past and move forward into the next chapter of our story, help us celebrate 15 years of movement, community, and the people who have shaped the ever-evolving BodyStories universe.
As we celebrate the friendship and imagination that have carried us through the last 15 years, we’re also looking towards the future beyond this milestone. Your presence and support will help us continue our mission to make dance for everybody by:
- Double the amount of students served by our educational programs, to ensure future generations maintain access to robust and challenging dance training.
- Build on last year’s 25% wage increase for dancers, cementing competitive wages for our dancers in an era when arts funding is at risk.
- Complete Embers of Becoming as a full-length touring production, bringing to fruition 15 years of community-led storytelling about the universal process of coming-of-age.
- Offer one fully funded artists residency at MAR+RC in 2027, expanding interregional collaboration between artists across New York State.
