Last weekend we ventured out of the city for a weekend getaway in Connecticut. We were hard at work at our three day residency at Dragon’s Egg, steeped in creative process of our newest work The Mantises are Flipping (P.S. I’ll have whatever they’re having).

Dragon’s Egg is astounding; brightly lit circular space with wide windowed walls and a swing hanging from the ceiling! The second floor, which is where we slept, looked over the studio floor.
Waking up each morning to look over the balcony at the dance space put everyone in an open, creative, productive, and inspired mindset. Every evening, after a day of dancing, we regrouped and relaxed by making dinner, swinging on the ceiling swing, and cracking up with Cards Against Humanity. Thanks to Smita Sharma for the great photos from the weekend.
It’s great to be back in New York, simmering with this new information about Mantises. We are happy to welcome company members Sarah Hillmon and Lindsey Ridgeway, Guest Artist Lee Vizzi, and apprentice Julie Goldberg to BodyStories: Teresa Fellion Dance. What a great team! In the next few weeks look out for updates on company classes, spring performances, our New York season, and the launch of our kickstarter campaign!
